Penn Jillette to host Libertarian presidential debate Monday

Penn Jillette hosts the Libertarian presidential debate

The Libertarian Party of Nevada is pleased to announce that celebrity Penn Jillette will be hosting the upcoming Libertarian presidential debate in Las Vegas.  The debate will be held next Monday, May 16, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Opportunity Village Englestad Campus.  Tickets can be acquired here.

The debate features the Libertarian Party's top three contenders for the Presidency of the United States: Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, tech mogul John McAfee, and the entrepreneur and TV producer Austin Petersen.  All three candidates have received significant national scrutiny ever since Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump became their parties' de facto nominees.  Host Penn Jillette is internationally known for the Penn and Teller act and the television show Penn and Teller's B.S.!

The candidates will be debating critical issues like the War on Drugs, the War on Terrorism, civil liberties, the NSA, immigration, taxes and runaway spending, and LGBTQ rights.  The debate is being professionally recorded and will later be televised.  This exciting event is sponsored by the Libertarian Party of Nevada and LP Nevada's OUT for Liberty Caucus.  Proceeds from the ticket sales directly benefit the charitable work of Opportunity Village.

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization serving children and adults in the southern Nevada community with intellectual disabilities, to enhance their lives and the lives of the families who love them. Opportunity Village is dedicated to helping people become the very best they can be. Through vocational training, community employment, day services, advocacy, arts and social recreation, citizens with severe disabilities are able to find new friends, realize future career paths, seek independence and community integration and unleash creative passions. Almost entirely self-funded, Opportunity Village is possible because southern Nevadans realize the value in supporting their neighbors with intellectual disabilities. In our society, people with disabilities live their live being told what they can’t do. Opportunity Village strives to break that stigma, encouraging the people it serves to follow their dreams.
