Cuban Libertarian Party leaders arrested by State Security last night

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Las Vegas, Nevada (June 1, 2017) - The leaders of the Cuban Libertarian Party were arrested and taken away by State Security last night!  The police showed up in the early afternoon in force with men and vehicles.  They surrounded the Benjamin Franklin Libertarian Library (Cuban Libertarian Party headquarters) for at least 6 hours before suddenly breaking open the doors and arresting everyone at some point between 10 and 11pm local time.

Libertarios cubanos pueden recibir una sentencia de 7 años

El Partido Libertario Cubano - José Martí y el Instituto Mises Cuba publicaron esta tarde la siguiente declaración sobre los libertarios encarcelados, Ubaldo Herrera Hernández y Manuel Velázquez Visea:

"Acabamos de recibir una llamada telefónica de las familias de Ubaldo y Manuel, los presos políticos libertarios, que el fiscal está pidiendo a Ubaldo ser sentenciado a 7 años y a Manuel, 1 año y medio. Su delito: difundir la libertad, ilegal en Cuba."

BREAKING: Cuban Libertarians face up to 7 years in prison

The Cuban Libertarian Party - José Martí and Mises Institute Cuba published the following statement this afternoon about the incarcerated Libertarians, Ubaldo Herrera Hernandez and Manuel Velazquez Visea:

"We just received a phone call from the families of Ubaldo and Manuel, the libertarian political prisoners, that the prosecutor is asking Ubaldo be sentenced to 7 years and Manuel, 1 year and a half.  Their crime: distributing freedom, also illegal in Cuba."

Movies to Chronicle the 20th Century

So, recently his family began a weekly movie series to chronicle the century, with an emphasis on how major events and developments affected people of each era.

Cuban Libertarian Party and Nevada Libertarian Party protest the disappearance of Nelson Rodriguez Chartrand

Las Vegas (May 23, 2017) – The Libertarian Party of Nevada joins the Cuban Libertarian Party – José Martí in protesting and condemning the disappearance of Nelson Luis Rodriguez Chartrand.  LP Nevada heard of the disappearance and the details around it from the Chairwoman of the Cuban Libertarian Party.  Nelson Rodriguez Chartrand is the spokesman for the Cuban Libertarian Party and one of the driving forces behind the party’s aggressive canvassing across Havana, where the Cuban Libertarians have been peppering Havana with fliers denouncing State Security and demanding the release of the political prisoners Ubaldo Herrera Hernandez and Manuel Velazquez Visea.
