Run For Office
The Libertarian Party is a grassroots political organization. Most of the day-to-day work of our party and our campaigns is done by thousands of volunteers, candidates and elected officials working at the state and local level. These volunteers do the bulk of the work, whatever forma it might take, walking for candidates, sending out flyers and mailings, phone calling, etc. Many volunteers, once exposed to the party operations, decide to get even more involved by electing to make a run for a political office. You might want to begin on a local level, getting your “Feet wet” so to speak, in a lower level race, such as school board, or a municipal or county level position. The best way to prepare is to go to the election board’s web site and check out what offices are coming up for the next election cycle. Then look over the qualifications and duties of the office, to see where you might fit, and in which you might have some interest, and then look at the necessary requirements to file, the fees involved, any petitions or signatures that might be necessary, etc. Once you are armed with all the information necessary to make your decision, get in touch with us, and we will help you any way we can.
We appreciate your willingness to run for office and help build a new political majority in America. Thank you!
